November Planning Session
Today I had my first People to People meeting. I made a lot of friends like Rachel and Kelsey who are both very nice young ladies.... click here for more.

Project Personal Splendor
Today, I had such a fun time touring Duke Children's Hospital! I got to see and learn a lot. In the tour, I learned that the doctors treat diseases from all ages - a lot of different diseases! I also learned that Duke Children's Hospital does all they can to make the rooms seem less scary or adult-like. Learn more about my visit and check out my pictures... click here!

Sorry it's been so long!

Sorry it's been so long since I've updated my journal. Everything was crazy during the Christmas holiday - we went to Kentucky to spend a lot of time with our family there.

Our January and February Student Ambassador meetings have been really fun. We've been talking a lot about the trip and planning for our behavior and expectations. I'm so excited!

It's been really hard to keep everything up dated on here because I broke my arm in January and have had a cast on it. I just got that off last week and have a splint now that I can finally take off every once in a while.

Also, the week after my arm was broke, my Papaw Gene in Kentucky died. I've been really sad about that because he was so special to me. I loved to spend time with him and talk to him on the phone and he always called me his Rugrat - it's hard for me to not have him anymore. I know he was very proud of me for being a Student Ambassador and he asked me everytime he talked to me if he could go with me. I told him no because he had never rode on an airplane and didn't want to fly and he always said that he would keep one foot on the ground and go anyway. I sure wish that he could. Anyway, I am going to have a great trip and know that Papaw Gene is watching over me from heaven.

Well, that's all I am going to write for now. I will write more about my Duke Children's hospital Gently used item drive after I've collected all of the items.
